When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we receive basic profile information from your Google account, including:

We use this information solely to authenticate your account and personalize your experience.

1.2 Documents You Create

Cumen stores the content you create while using the platform, including:

  • Resumes
  • Cover letters
  • Job application records
  • Saved job descriptions
  • Notes
  • Custom templates
  • Other career-related documents

These documents remain associated with your account until you delete them or request deletion of your account.

1.3 Gmail Integration

If you choose to connect your Gmail account, Cumen requests only the permissions necessary to provide Gmail-related features.

Depending on the permissions granted, we may access:

  • Email metadata (sender, recipient, subject, timestamps)
  • Message content
  • Labels related to job applications

This information is used exclusively to:

  • Detect job-related emails
  • Organize interview invitations
  • Track application updates
  • Surface relevant emails inside your Cumen dashboard
  • Help manage your job application pipeline

We do not use Gmail data for advertising, profiling unrelated to the requested features, or selling to third parties.

You may disconnect Gmail at any time from the application's Settings.

1.4 Payment Information

If you purchase a subscription, payments are securely processed through Razorpay.

Cumen does not store:

  • Credit card numbers
  • Debit card details
  • UPI credentials
  • Banking information

Payment information is processed directly by Razorpay in accordance with their privacy and security policies.

1.5 Technical Information

To keep the service reliable and secure, we may automatically collect technical information such as:

  • Device type
  • Browser information
  • Operating system
  • IP address
  • Session information
  • Log files
  • Crash reports
  • Usage analytics

This information helps us improve performance, troubleshoot issues, and protect the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide, maintain, and improve Cumen.

Examples include:

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Generating AI-powered resumes and cover letters
  • Tailoring resumes to specific job descriptions
  • Managing your application pipeline
  • Synchronizing Gmail (when enabled)
  • Saving your documents
  • Processing subscription payments
  • Providing customer support

  • Detecting abuse, fraud, and security issues
  • Complying with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

3. AI Processing

Some features within Cumen use third-party AI models to generate or improve content such as:

  • Resumes
  • Cover letters
  • Professional summaries
  • Skill recommendations
  • Job application materials

When you use these features, the relevant text may be securely transmitted to our AI service provider solely to generate the requested output.

We do not use your documents to intentionally publish or publicly disclose your information.

4. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use Disclosure)

Cumen's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, Google user data obtained via the Gmail API is used only to provide the in-app features described in this policy (detecting job-related emails such as interview invites, recruiter replies, coding-test/OA invites, offers and rejections, organizing them inside your Cumen dashboard, and sending replies or follow-up emails on your behalf when you choose to). Google user data:

  • is not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third parties, except as necessary to provide or improve these user-facing features, or to comply with applicable law;
  • is not used for advertising, remarketing, or building advertising profiles;
  • is not used to train generalized or third-party AI/ML models;
  • is not read by humans except with your explicit consent, for security, to comply with applicable law, or for internal operations where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.

You can disconnect Gmail at any time from Cumen Settings, and you can also revoke Cumen's access from your Google Account permissions page.

5. Third-Party Services

Cumen works with trusted third-party providers to operate the Service.

These providers process information only as necessary to perform their specific functions. They include:

  • Google – Authentication (Google Sign-In) and optional Gmail integration
  • Cloud database and authentication provider – Secure storage of accounts and documents
  • AI model provider – AI-powered content generation
  • Razorpay – Payment processing

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and security practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information only in the following situations:

  • With trusted service providers necessary to operate Cumen
  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect the rights, security, and integrity of Cumen and its users
  • During a merger, acquisition, or business transfer (users will be notified where required)

While we strive to protect your information, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Account information is retained while your account remains active.
  • Documents remain stored until you delete them or request account deletion.
  • Gmail data is retained only as needed to provide Gmail-related features and according to the permissions you grant.
  • Certain logs may be retained temporarily for security and operational purposes.

8. Your Rights and Controls

You remain in control of your information. You can:

  • Disconnect Gmail integration at any time from Settings.
  • Delete resumes, cover letters, and other documents from your dashboard.
  • Update your account information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Contact us regarding privacy-related questions.

We will process eligible deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations requiring data retention.

9. Children's Privacy

Cumen is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. International Data Processing

Depending on where our service providers operate, your information may be processed or stored in countries outside your own.

We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring personal information across jurisdictions.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices.
